To expose cracks or faults in a concrete rooftop, it is essential that all existing coatings and surfaces coverings are removed. We have the equipment to lift tiles, remove outdoor carpets, artificial grass or any other floor covering you may have.
Vertex has invested in top quality German designed floor grinding equipment powered by a three-phase generator. All grinders are paired to powerful vacuum extractors complete with HEPA filters to minimise dust on the jobsite and to protect our workers.
After the diamond grinding all cracks will be exposed and assessed for suitable repairs. Prior to sealing with flexible polyurethane sealant, major cracks will be square cut and filled with backing rod. A bond-breaking tape will be placed over the cut to allow future movement.
Where possible, low-lying areas of ponding will be corrected with self-levelling compounds to improve fall towards drainage points.
Wherever a vertical wall or other upstand meets the horizontal floor surface, a polyurethane coving will be installed prior to the application of the new membrane system. All floor coatings will run approximately 100mm up the wall to a neat termination line.
A customized waterproofing system will be selected, depending on the use of the rooftop (eg. trafficable membrane and/or additional floor covering such as tiles or AstroTurf). A typical system comprises of a two pack epoxy prime coat followed by a polyurethane membrane and a UV stable non-slip top coat.
Vertex is accredited with most major waterproof product suppliers and will supply site specific product specifications for your project.
All Vertex staff hold current Working at Height certification and have extensive rigging experience to lower and haul product and equipment to and from the roof without the need for expensive crane hire. Generally, we move all waste products via ropes down to the skip bin on the outside of the building, minimizing disruption.
We are QBCC licensed waterproofers and offer product and workmanship warranties with all jobs. Detailed quality assurance reports with accompanied photographs and film thickness readings will be supplied with all projects.
